Bit One MIDI Upgrade v2

£125.00 GBP Coming soon

Successor to the original Bit One MIDI Upgrade kit. Adds the following features and improvements to the Crumar Bit One:

- Plugging a cable into the MIDI In socket no longer disables the keyboard, they can both be used simultaneously

- The synth is no longer stuck in MIDI omni mode, receive channel can be set and remembered on the synth itself

- MIDI input is more reliable as messages are pre-filtered before going to the main CPU, so it need not waste time parsing messages on channels it doens't care about

- Receives MIDI pitch bend (2 semitone range), sustain pedal, mod wheel and more - see manual. MIDI mod wheel functionality on this v2 version is now provided by a dual VCA arrangement so that it duplicates the on-board mod wheel behaviour with individual DCO modulation busses.

- Adds a Juno-inspired arpeggiator (external MIDI clock source required) with up, down, u+d and random modes; hold, range setting as well as a variety of clock division settings

The MIDI upgrade board's settings are configured using keyboard keys while the synth is in tape mode. No holes need to be drilled and it doesn't interfere with any original functionality.

Now fully compatible with all of the additional features offered by the highly-recommended Tauntek firmware as well, including the ability to edit all parameters from MIDI CCs and receive patches via MIDI SysEx.

Kit includes pre-assembled circuit board, DIN socket, wiring and all mounting hardware. Installation & user instructions here.
